Digipak

This is my Digipak. I decided on the black and white theme to correspond with the colour schemes of the other two products. I also used the same typeface, to connect the products together. This was also the case with the images I used, which involve shots from the actual music video. This connects to the themes and ideas throughout my products.

Digipak Research: Conventions of the Form

Many of the heavy metal artists use abstract art or photographs for their CD digipak covers. Often the photographs are of the band themselves or scenery that is related to the album and it's concept.

Further Audience Research

This is an example of using social media to help with my audience research. By asking a question as a facebook status, it means a wide variety of people will read and hopefully answer the 3 questions I asked.

This is the response I got for the question I asked, however it wasn't the best of responses as it was generally the same kind of age and gender bracket that answered the question. Male aged 18-25 with one female aged 17.

Problems and Issues

Due to issues with timing and location I unfortunately wasn't able to film the band footage when I needed and wanted to. Therefore the filming location had to be changed and less instruments involved.

Props List

I do not need many props for my video, however I do need to use brown pillow cases to represent the sacks on peoples heads.

I also need to use instruments to represent the performance aspect of the video. Instruments such as flutes and guitars.

Booking Form

Requesting Permission from the Local Primary School

This is the letter I sent to the head teacher from the local primary school, asking if some of the children could participate in the music video.

Monday 15th October 2012

Dear Mrs ________

My name is Amber Brunt and I am an A2 Media Studies student at Thomas Adams college in Wem. I am writing to request your permission to ask if some of your pupilsaged 8-11, are willing to participate in a music video that I am filming for my media studies. I would need a small group of 6 to 8 pupils. I apologise about the short notice but filming is planned to take place in and around Nesscliffe park and Hill on Monday 22nd of October.

If any pupils are willing to take part in the filming I can collect them from the school at 9:15am and take them to the park, with a member of your staff to accompany me. The video will purely be used for my media studies only, and the children's faces would not actually be seen because they would be wearing pillowcases on their heads and their faces will be pixelated once these are removed. If any parents wish to have more information on my proposed plans and video content they can contact me on my email address: ________ In addition they can see examples of my work at my blog: http://amberbrunta2media123.blogspot.co.uk/

This would a fantastic opportunity for pupils who are interested  in seeing  how music videos are put together and produced. I would also be willing to come in and show the end product to  the school and discuss my experiences so far in the media course I am doing.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Wardrobe and Style

For the group shots I plan for the children and participants to wear plain t-shirts and a sack (pillow case) on their heads. This creates a blank canvas for the acting and themes of the video to print an image on. The members of the band will be wearing normal or 'heavy metal' type clothing. The standard type of clothing that a band might wear on stage or when performing. This is to correlate with standard genre conventions of this type of music and this type of music video.

These are examples of the type of clothing that the band members will be wearing.
